A Deeper Look at "It's Complicated"

Let's be clear right here at the start. This is a funny, funny movie; actually all the way through, if you're only taking in the surface action. But, watch out for all the deeper stuff in the undercurrent.
Speaking of surface here's the plot line. Jane (Meryl Streep) has been divorced for 10 years from her ex-husband of 28 years, Jake (Alec Baldwin). They have 3 (now grown) children together. They divorced because he cheated on her with a 20-year younger woman Agnes, to whom he's now married. Jane's hasn't remarried; she lives alone. Even though the work part of her life goes well (she owns a successful bakery/restaurant), she doesn't have a dating life and she's self-conscious about her 50-something looks.
When the family goes to their son's college graduation, Jake goes alone; Agnes, his wife, is back home sick. Without planning it, Jake and Jane find they're staying at the same hotel. They accidentally meet at the hotel bar where they drink, eat and dance together. They get drunk and end up in bed together.

A Deeper Look at "Maid in Manhattan"

On the surface, this is the story of a maid, Marissa (Jennifer Lopez), a single mom, who works at a posh New York City hotel. Midway through the movie she's chosen for a supervisor's training program. She enters the program and is doing well. Under odd circumstances, one day Christopher Marshall (Ralph Fiennes), a senatorial candidate staying at the hotel, meets Marissa and mistakes her for the wealthy socialite, Caroline Lane. Against her better judgment Marissa goes along with the deception and they spend one magical, intimate night together. Marissa is fired when the real Caroline Lane exposes her as a fraud.
Now, for A Deeper Look.
Both in her work and her personal life, we see that Marissa is a Superiority (Achieving personality; she has many goals.) Because they get bored easily, Achieving people love moving forward to new things. They want variety. They seek change because it means growth

International Etiquette Tips - For Travellers on Business or on Holiday

Long plane rides lend plenty of time for reflection. On an 8-hour flight home from vacation this summer, I started thinking about how handy my business trip to-do list is, even for casual summer holidays like this one. Sometimes international travellers will head to the airport without thinking twice about how their destination might differ from their home country, or how their own customs and manners might fit in with another culture. In my opinion, it's always best to prepare before travelling abroad: just a little pre-voyage homework can ease your adjustment to a new place and will demonstrate respect for your host's nation and customs.
My Business Trip To-Do List
  1. Research local customs. Just a bit of background work on your host's country can give you an advantage with a potential partner or client: it will demonstrate that you are serious about the value of your business relationships and that you are respectful of their culture. Researching local customs and manners is perhaps most important; it can save you from many embarrassing blunders. Look up the procedures and differences in shaking hands, introductions and titles, dress codes, dining and table manners, body language, and appropriate arrival times.
  2. Research current affairs. Before your trip, follow the news regarding your destination country. It is helpful in preparing you for a different political climate or atmosphere, as well as for keeping up with dinner conversations with your hosts. A note of caution: avoid discussing anything too controversial - you don't want to jeopardize your business relationship with polemic small talk or dinner debates.

What Is Interchange And How Does It Affect My Business?

If you're like most businesses and take credit cards, chances are that you have come across a statement describing the rise in interchange fees and how that impacts the rates at which your business is processing credit cards. Interchange is simple. It is the rates at which Visa / MasterCard / Discover / Amex charge their resellers. So think of it like this: A reseller (credit card processor) will break even if they allow businesses to run the same rates that they are getting from the (card issuers). Since you cannot buy a merchant account directly with these card issuers, you need to buy from a reseller. These resellers ultimately do not dictate the changes in the fees. The changes happen usually once a quarter and sometimes every month. The rates are based on calculations of risk associated with the different card types that are offered to the public. Some cards carry more risk than others based on the risk profile that this card was issued and now the eventual loss that occurred as a result.

Selecting a Digital Projector on Rental for Meeting Rooms

With presenters increasingly using the latest laptops and computers to prepare slides for their presentations, a meeting room needs a low-maintenance, digital projector that can be easily connected to input devices. A digital projector for meeting rooms needs to have built in security and meet industry security and control standards. It needs to be able to project a clear image even when ambient light is high.
High Resolution
The InFocus IN2106 meets all the requirements of a perfect projector for meeting rooms. It is compact and low-grade. It is meant solely for widescreen use and offers an aspect ratio of 16:10. It supports a WXGA resolution but also projects 720p HD content from videos and digital television sources. It is equipped with BrilliantColor technology and the images it displays have a realistic color. It has a contrast ratio of 2000:1 ensuring that details in dark images are not lost. The power of 2500 lumens is more than sufficient to produce clear images even when there is a lot of ambient light.

The Exciting World of Rory

Rory. Four little letters and a meaning steeped in history. It originates from the Irish 'Rua', meaning red and 'Ridh' meaning king. The two words come together to form 'Red King'.
Not only does it mean Red King, it is also the name of a King - the King of Ireland in the 12th century was Ruaidri mac Tairrdelbach Ua Conchobair or Rory O'Connor.
With such regal background, it is not a coincidence that the latest King of Golfers has such a regal name of Rory. Which Rory are we talking about? The one and only Rory McIllroy.
Rory McIllroy
Rory McIlroy is a golfing sensation. This past summer he won the US Open, the youngest winner since 1923. But not only that, he won with a record score of 16 under par with an eight shot victory.
Before going professional as a 17-year-old, he topped the Word Amateur Golf Ranking for a week back in 2007. His name is that of a King and he is indeed golfing and Northern Irish royalty. He is the most exciting player to hit the circuit in years.
